are the v12's that much better? the price difference is huge. anyone have the v-power's? how do you like them?
i have both the v12 and v power amps in my car as far as i know the v12s are monoblock amps with digital processor and the v power are the multichannel with 1 or 2 mono amps with a normal processor
v12 on the left for the subs vpower on the right for the componets
so im guessin digital is better? any advantage?
with the digital you can get the amp contoller to change the settings of the amp from your seat and view amps, volts, and temp of the amp. v12 is better to tune with then the vpower but either way both amps rock.
amp controller underneath my H/u
so basically the only thing ill lose is the ability to adjust them from up front?
and a few settings like time correction (not really needed with subs), safe mode turns amp off, and a couple others i cant remember off the top of my head
agree completely /\/\/\/\/\/\ now i just need to find a 2 or 4 channel one like you have an ill be set
there were two v12s on ebay 2 days ago that were 50x2 rms i was going to bid on, one went for 30 dollars and the other went for 60, im shottin myself in the foot because i decided to bid on a different one that was a 4x50 instead and that one shot up to 152.50 already and theres a day left on it.
sound correction being useless with subs is false information just so you know wrench, if used correctly by someone who knows what theyre doing when setting up a good SQ set up time correction is very nice to have. not trying to be a butt hole here, just letting you know that its not useless just cuz u got subs.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

i had lots of toys when i was young.slinky,etc.but once i found my penis, that was all she wrote
well thats good to know. i did set teh time correction on mine and didnt notice any diff. and boy am i anal about how well everything is centered lol
Quick questions about the v12's
My buddies amp in his Chevy Silverado is a single channel running two 10" type R's and it quit and has the CUR (current) warning for excessive current.
How do we fix this?
I checked all the grounds, fuses, power, everything, but can't find whats wrong.
Also whatever happened, melted the center of his one sub (dealer gave him a new one), but we tried reseting the power to the amp after putting in the new sub and still no diff.
I am totally lost and need some help to save my buddy some money. Thanks guys.
i had a amp get stuck in high cur because the ground was too small. i had to send it in to alpine to get it fixed. they ended up fixing it for free all i had to pay was shipping.
