Cap problem?
Monday, March 27, 2006 7:16 PM
I recently bought a used Lightning Audio 1 faret Strike series digital cap from a buddy of mine. But upon installation my battery ran itself dead. The LED readout with motor on is roughly 14.7-15.0 and with motor off it reads 13.7-13.5. Everything is hooked up right to the best of my knowledge. But I was wondering why the cap won't shut off. Can it be a bad sensor on the cap? I know the remote for the amp is off. I tested it numerous times so that's not the reason the cap still runs. May anyone have any clue? Like I said earlier the thing won't shut off and to my understanding it should automatically shut itself off after roughly 5-10minutes. Thank you for any information regarding this topic. -Ryan

After reading my first post its kind of misleading.....sorry.....I mean the cap won't shut off after turning the car off thus the reason I think the battery ran itself dead...

Why do you need a cap in the first place?

sounds like you wired the digital display directly to the battery instead of having it on a switched 12+

i have a digital display like that, it still reads 12.7 when i get up in the afternoon and go to my car. i didnt think it would drain the battery ...
