Hey guys, i need ur help. my sub is starting to make an extra "bump" noise while it's on and i cant turn it up anymore. ive been playin it pretty low all week then when i got in my car yesterday i went to turn it up and i barely got to the mid level of volume and it started making these extra bumps. i looked at my amp while it was goin on and the green protection light was blinking red with the bumps. wut is goin on?
I'd check the simplest things first... like your ground. Be sure its grounded to bare metal and not coming lose.
it's on the bare metal undr my seat very tight. it works perfectly at low volume, like i can hear the bass, but when i turn it up a little its like it lets loose and makes xtra noise. I'm lost
maybe be a problem with an amp, if you have another amp around, use it and troubleshoot. Otherwise, the only things we can suggest is check the wiring throughout your amp and subs.
i have the SAME problem. car audio shop said it was a bad ground. but ive regrounded it 4 times, ive gone through all my wiring. just happend out of nowhere to. i even added a noise suppressor to clean up the RCA cables. but nothing. any ideas
that's another problem in itself. i do have another amp but when i connect it, it does the same thing. when i hooked up my good amp there was no more problem. i'm gonna try to reground it and see wut happens
i got it to work finally. i took out the right rca plug and the protection light stopped comin on and it seems to be fine now. can anybody tell me y this is? i have a 12" xplod sub at 4 or 500 watts,. cant remember. a sony 250 watt amp and i have always had bopth rca plugs plugged in. wut do u think happened?
It's sony, sony = @!#$s ON Ya
amps cant screw up when they arent getting any sound to amplify. may be a problem in the sub then. try replacing it with an old cheap one that still works.
no....it works now. i know its not the greatest, but i got it working again. i was just sayin that i unplugged one of the rca plugs and it came back on perfectly.i was just wondering about opinions on why this happend, but thnx
bad input on the amp bad output on the head unit or bad rca
that makes sense. so just changing that one rca plug should solve that?
