i hit one of the wires together while i was takin out the old deck and it sparked and i went to install the new one and well...it doesnt turn on and also the interior lights dont come on.
is it a fuse???
How can i tell what fuse it is??? or whatever??
so i know what i need to buy!
Sounds like the acc. fuse blew (I believe that's what powers the dome light). Open the door to your fusebox, it has a diagram saying what all the fuses are for and what sizes they are.
open your fuse panel on the left side of the dash by the door, and pull out the suspect fuse and look at it, a blown fuse will usually have black marks on it and the metal strip inside will be broken. its most likely a blown fuse, probably the interior light fuse

Disconnect your battery and that won't happen!
Also check the fuse on the back of the headunit.
odd, let me try that again

i went out and looked at the PWR acc like u said and then looked to see if the "metal strip inside will be broken" looked for that and well i didnt see that on the pwr acc one...i didnt pull it out to see if the spikes on it or whatever were black but the thing inside the casin wasnt broken
o yes and well none of that is what i did!!! my step father did all that back when we were workin on the can together and it was his car now its mine and well ya.... so what fuses should i check and i can just pull them out and put them back in without disconnecting the battery right??
well you have no airbag fuse and you have a 15A hazard light fuse instead of 20A.
so which fuse did he tap fot the stereo?
And yes you can pull a fuse without disconnecting the battery.
Your scaring me, what is the blue wire on the left on the OUTSIDE of the weatherstriping?
lol like i said my step father but that wire is coved by a thing that goes there i just didnt put it back in yet it doesnt go past it norm.....
that whole picture scares the @!#$ out of me, people need to stop half assing things
Its not how fast your car goes....its how much nerve the driver has to push it that fast.

i have no idea what he tapped into but all i know is that the interior lights dont work!!! and also.....the deck doesnt turn on when i put it into acc or even turn on the car!!!
ALSO the deck fuse is ok i checked it!!!

well if i was the one that did it all (if i knew how) it wouldnt look like that in the first place!!!
but he doesnt like makin things look neat or whatever just put it in and thats all where it runs doesnt matter!!!
i dont know
the make problem here is gettin the fuse that i need so i can have my deck runnin!
anyone have any idea what fuse i should be lookin at???
Check the...
10A RADIO
10A INT LAMP
10A PWR ACC
And if it isn't one of those, check any of the ones that have a fuse tap on them. Not that that would be causing it, but one of those might be bad anyways.
Are you running a different steering wheel?? I ask cause you have no airbag fuse.
Also, what wire did you tap into to get power for the radio. That might help us figure what is wrong.

if the stereo doesnt turn on at all, check the 10A radio fuse, and the 10A int lamp fuse for the interor lights. If neither fixes any of the problems, check ALL fuses (under the hood and inside) and replace any and all that are blown.
k thx everyone i will check tmr morn!!! when i get up
Start from scratch and rewire everything so you know what's going on under the dash.
k well i went to check the fuse 10A INT LAMP was done for so changed it and it works the INT lights now i dunno if the deck works havent hooked it up but i will be doin that now...and also checkin the other fuses under the hood and in the door to see what else is blow so i will post in a bit
thx again
FIRE IN THE HOLE. For the love of god tear all that crap out and rewire things right.
no prob, its hard to tell if the problem is a simple fuse, a burnt/grounded circuit, or something more serious. I check things in this order: Fuse, components (amp, deck, etc.), and wires. If I cant find it, I ask here, and if noone here knows, then take it to a shop. most of the work on a car can be done personally, the electical stuff really isn't that hard. I havent even had a car for a year yet (meaning my liscense is less than one year old) and I've already installed several amps, both one and two amp setups, installed a few decks (with wiring harnesses, I refuse to cut the factory wires because if I screw up, there's no goin back), even installed some extra things such as LED lights, bass reactors, windshield wipers, sprayers... so on and so forth. Only thing I havent touched on my cars is the mechanical components (the actual moving parts) except the windshield wipers.... but those dont really count
well i went outside and like i said i changed the fuse for 10a INT LAMP and guess what it solved everything after changin that and installin the deck it all works......THANKS !!!!
