Grounding kit test
Wednesday, March 01, 2006 5:11 PM
Well i got a free grounding kit from someone on the org. to prove or disprove that they work. today i took the time to install it.

Its 4 gague wire with copper connecters. To be honest i didn't see an affect on any of the lights at all. Now i did seem to have abit, little bit, of a better throttle response and i can really tell my subs are hittin alittle harder and alot more crisper. Heres some pics of my head lights before and after and my gauges before and after.

All i can say is its not to bad of a deal. if u can get one cheap or make one urself go for it.

Try putting the ground on something other than your oil filler bracket, like in a tranny bolt.

and might want to clean up your grounding points, it doesnt look like you sanded down underneath them.

Nope. The big 3 consists on grounding the alt, A new ground for the battery which he has, and a power wire from the alt to a fuse then to the battery.

Ryan, Did you have any problems with the install? was the quality ok? How were the directions? was it really worth it?

I sanded down everything right to the metal. you cant tell on the tower becuase of the strut bar being over it.

El Fuego : the install was easy as pie. u only need to know how to losen bolts and put it together. The only probably i found was that my battery terminal was an 8mm not 7 like u had listed. The quality was great looks awsome IMO with the blue strut bar. IMO if u use it for a system its worth it. Like i stated i can really tell a difference in my subs and how they sound and hit.

Not trying to be a dick here, but your test hardly seems "scientific". DId you think about getting some voltage readings? Or myabe a dyno test?

The butt dyno test doesn't really hold up.

ya the only thing i would believe is a metered test with this thing.

a voltage reading probably wont mean anything, you would have to test the ampacity.

because a car circuit is 12-14.5V, depending if it is on and has an efficient alternator, voltage testing shouldnt see a change.

amperage, should be higher if it works.

Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!

Then what is this kit? What did you do?

grounding kit is just that grounds. You put soem wires in a diasy chain trhough your engine compartment. from tower to tower and from your batt to a better ground point. Its to aid the stock system.
