i was wondering if the stock cd player for the cavaliers has a cd changer port in the back? i want to get an adaptor for my ipod that plugs into a disk changer port but i need to know before i buy it and take apart my dash.

i believe it does.

im not 100% sure, but i know the higher end tape decks had a cd changer port in the back ( ones with the TAPE / AUX button on the front). as long as you have the one that looks like this:



then it should work!

yeah i don't have one of those aux buttons. here is a pic i found of one just like mine.

if your cd player does not have the AUX button, i dont believe it will support cd changer capabilities.

all i would do is go by an FM transmitter for your I-Pod and plug it in to it. just tune into the station and viola!

thats probably an easier fix.

so i went out to look for a new deck today since mine wont support a cd changer. the guy gave me some stuff about how all the electronics run through my stereo and i need some box thats like 200 bucks in order to change my deck. whats that all about?

from what i hear its a bunch of BS. im pretty sure you dont need them. ive doene enough aftermarket to know for now

If you want to keep your door chimes, you'll need the module. If you get it, don't pay $200 for it, you can find it for closer to $100 at Circuit City. If not, you just need the harness and you'll have to run a wire over to your fuse box.

the box is only $50 at walmart
and no you dont need it, all it does is keep the door chimes
i CUT off my stock harness adn hard-wired my HU in and i have had no problems

i would just spend $50 to get a decent fm trans and fix the problem of your ipod
