Hey guys quick question Im putting subs in my car and i got everything wired up and the amp is on. Im bridging the subs on the amp b/c its a four channel amp and i got two subs. But the subs wont do anything and I wanna know the best way to go about troubleshooting.
What kind of subs, what voice coils are on the subs, what amp, how do you have the subs wired.
Well its my boys car and he had some bootleg 12's and a volfenfang amp. The subs are bridged and its dual voice coils the subs were pre loaded in the box by the company. So that was done by the them.
Probably tripping out impedence protection on the amp. They're probably dual 4 ohm subs wired to 2 ohm, and the amp can't handle 2 ohm bridged.
yeah it said green is power and red is protected and the light is red
But, it only lights up when I plug in the RCA's.
Disconnect the subs and if the red light goes off then you probably need to correct the ohm load.
Like I said before, you're running a 2 ohm load to something that can handle a 4 ohm load max.
yea its not a monoblock amp so the impedence is usually higher
OK Thanks guys Im gonna play with it more today.
