mids?

ok. i have power acoustic speakers all around. i love them and refuse to get rid of them. but i have one question. what can i do to get some mids out of them. my HU doesnt have have an equalizer for the mids. just hte highs and lows. im running 4x6 in the frond and 6x9 in the rear. can i buy an exualizer where the speaker outpust go to it and back out. i know i used to be able to find them. but dont know where to get them anymore. i do not hav ethem amped uo. so i was thinking either equalizer or crossover for all the speakers. any ideas for the mids owuld be greatly apreceiated. thanks in advance

heres a tip that will work, but only if your speakers ARE NOT components.

i would just hed out to like radio shack.

basically, you need for potentiometers. a potentiometer or POT is a varriable resistor. you can adjust it with a screw driver for example to increase or decrease the amount of resistance.

get for of these pots, two for each side. wire one in parallel across the + and - wires and the other in series with one of the wires, positive will probably work best. adjust them the same amount, which you can check with a meter, and listen if it gets better.

wiring them up as such is called an "L-Pad".

or, you could just get the one pot in series with it, leaving the one in parrallel out and adjust it till it sounds better. this will pad your speaker down. the reason for the one in parrallel is to keep the same inpedence, but since your not amping them, it should be ok.

Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!

another question. will the Boss AVA-1404 work without a amp to the 4x6 and 6x9 speakers. it looks like you have to use the high level in and the RCA out. what i need is soemthing with speakers (high level) in and speakers(high level) out. so i dont have to use an amp to amp them up.

how can you love speakers that you say have no mids to them? adding a eq is not the answer. getting a pair of speakers that will play all your frequencies adequatly is.
