voltmeter power

I have an autometer voltmeter. Can I hook it up through my remote turn on for my sub, or will it not be enough to turn it on? If that won't work, I'll just hook it up with the power wire for my cd player. The remote turn on just happens to be easily accessible without removing my dash. Thanks.

I have the exact same gauge, and I just ran the signal and power thro the Radio fuse, that way when ever the stereo is on, the gauge is on. That way when I have the stereo on with the car off, I know how much juice is left.

That's my second choice, I just want to avoid removing the dash again That's all I want too, I only want it for when the sub is running. my last car (which was new when I bought it) the battery light came on at 16,000 miles. If I knew it was sucking the power that quickly, I would have listened to it loud less often and maybe adjusted the amp some more.

Nobody knows if I can hook it up to the amp turn on wire from the deck?
