when sealing off the trunk from the back seat does that make the subs sound like crap for everyday music listening, is that mainly for spl reasons

Yes. If there's less to pressurise, your spl goes up. Try aiming your subs towards the trunk - makes a big difference.
thanks guys for the feedback

if the amps are set right it will sound great and also get alot louder, but if your amp's are not set right it will sound like $hit
i thought that when u bounced it off the trunk it sounded bettter/loud...or is it just louder...cuz i remember when i was too lazy to put it in my trunk and had it on the back seat (for like a day) i could barely hear anything...but the sub was movin like crazy but there was almost no sound i could hear...well not almost none but nothing compared to in the trunk backwards

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
LOL
when you have the sub's facin back you can't hear the amps cpippin so you can turn it up louder. my sub's are facin in and i havent sealed the trunk off yet but its vary loud.
when i had one sub i did 146 on the old mic and when i faced the sub into the car and sealed it off i went up to 148-149.
