I can't get the wiring connector to come off, and I can't get these stupid things out. Is there a trick to this? I'm trying to replace the 6X9s in the back of my 98 Sunfire...and they just won't come out.. I must be missing something or doing something wrong... Actually, I should probably just cut that stupid connector off...I don't need it, and I don't like it.
There should be a tab that you lift up on and it'll come off.
i would just cut them off... you're going to have to cut them off anyways because the new speakers will come with new connectors... go hack away at those babies!

yep. go in your truck and look up. theres a little black tab sticking out under the speakers. it holds the speaker to the trunk. just push on it to the side
If you ever sell the car, it'd be nice to put the stock stuff back in painlessly. But then again, most kids don't think like that.

Dont cut them off. you can always wire tap onto the or strip and solder them to the new wires. Plus GM won't like it too well if you are leasing the car and they see cut harnesses when they detail it after you turn it back in. Also, wiring harness adapters are available relatively cheap from Crutchfield to plug one end into your car harness and the other into the speaker
I'm with stupid!>>>>>>Of coarse, sometimes I feel like turining those arrows the other way and saying I'm stupid!
