Alpine CDA-9851 install in 04 sunfire?

Does anyone have this head unit installed in their cavaliers or sunfires of this generation? I want to get it, but Crutchfield people told me that it is like .04 of an inch too long. Are they full of crap?

I have one. It was a little hard to install because it WAS slightly too long. But I cut away a little part of the plastic piece in the back and I was able to squeeze it in there. Go for it, it's a great unit.

I have the 9853. I believe it's the same size unit... and mine fits no problem.

Mine is similar because it is Alpine...I had that piece behind the radio cut out the day I brought it home...and John Lenko's instruction made me realize that you have to run a power wire from the deck to the fuse box to bypass the class ii crap (im sure its still sticky) ...make sure you get a metra 99-3301 install kit because it wont look right in the dash with that crappy kit Crutchfild sends you..use the # i referenced to buy one @the stereo shop or order it. On a lighter note...the girl that lives with me has that combo in her 00 sunfire and we modded NOTHING but that wire

I'm with stupid!>>>>>>Of coarse, sometimes I feel like turining those arrows the other way and saying I'm stupid!
