For thos of you out thier that love to compete in DB drag, i was woundering was your expectations are.

Im running 3 MTX superwoofers on a MTX 8001 amp, w/ a 12V line driver. Last year i hit 144.7. I'm redoing the box, and seeing if i can build it a little better, and Gunna see whare im loosing pressure in my cab. Im prety confident i can squeeze out at least 146 this year.

I know if some of us work together we could all get into the 150's this year without a sweat.

Lash - add yerself another amp and another sub, we'll do it up. Btw, your setup does look good brother.

wow, i dont think i will have my eyes on 150 without the help of another amp. I was acually thinking of designing a ported tub. But, i was talking with my rep from mtx, and he thinks ill do better sealed.

you WILL need another amp to reach 150 maybe 2 more one per sub. don't go sealed if you want spl if anything a bandpass.

to get 150 on the new nic you need a good box and around 4000 watt's

400kw is for kiddies.

and i would never run a sealed anything anymore.
bandpass maybe. but i have seen the light at the end of the ported box.

Ima be shooting for 3600 watts rms and 4 12's. Say a prayer for me Saint db.

Well...this summer I'm gonna see about getting a "project" s-10. I have one that sits high (for work and such)...now I need one that sits low . I really want to do a wall type...or maybe a blow through. Cant really do either since this truck is my daily drivers.....so I'll have to get a "toy" for that.

nah. you don't need that much power.

buddy of mine hit 153's with two twelves and a bd1500. (in a crx no wall) but still, lol

i really doubt i need 4000watts for 150db.. I think with a ported box, and (mybe) another amp i could hit it. The only problem with a ported box is tuning it. Thats allot of math with designing a ported box for 3 10's. I dont think ill need any more surface area for more pressure. Who really pushes 4000watts through a daily driver car. You relize how much power that really is. Omg, i give anyone props that can manage to run that. I have a hard enough time running my amp at 1300 watts @1ohm. Heat, current draw. My light dim like crazy. I run 0awg, and getting ready to run a second yellow top.

But yeah. I never though anyone on here acually ran anything over 2000watts. I gues my ultimate goal would be to run 6 woofers with 6 amps. But my car is only so big, and i acually like a back seat. I work at futureshop in the install bay, and we get dealer insentives towards rockford, infinity, and mtx for audio gear. So my selection is pretty decent. I would prefer older kicker amps for my selection, but these mtx mxa8001 put out some pretty decent power. They rate at just over 1000 watts at 2 ohm. So, we'll see next year. But for this year, i guess ill be at the back of the line still in the 140's.

it can be done but with ALOT of box work.

whell my friend is the loudest in the us and 2ed in the world in street A with a 154.4 and thats with 2 10's in a crx.

with 3 10's your goin to need more power to break 150 try to face the sub's in and seal off the trunk

Re: this year DB drag?

i ran 4800 watts for a short time. 4 1000bds. then to 1 2500d at half ohm and then on to 4 2500ds

It's sad that our amps put out more horsepower than our motors.
