I am thinking on getting some pioneer speakers to match my deck. The deck is a early 2003 model DEH-P650 think its 50x4 from the internal amp. I am thinking on 2 choices for the doors. First choice is the 4x6 component set (TS-P462) the other choice is a 4x6 3 way (TS-A4670R).
For 6x9 i was thinking on going with the 5 ways (TS-A6991R).
The question is does anyone have any experience with these speakers? What kind of amp would i need to run them to their potential. The deck has front and rear pre outs as well as sub out (got the subs already Audiobahn). So would i need to get 2 seperate amps or can i just get one and what do i hook it up to and any suggestions on a good amp. Price is no object. Thanks for helping me out guys
You would need one 4-channel amp. What amp you get depends on how much power you want.
How about this, check out the sticky up top, and do yourself up a component pair of 6 1/2's in the doors? You can thank me later for that.
You could get a 5 channel amp to run everything if you wanted, but most people opt for a 4 channel amp and a monoblock to run their subs. Get yourself an amp around 75x4 rms for your speakers and you should be happy.
if you have a 4 channel amp and you got 3 outputs, one for front, one for rear, and one for subs, which one do u hook it up to?? like i was thinkin if you put it on the front outputs it would sound like all speakers are trying to play what the front speakers would play and ud be missin the rear sounds and whatever, and vise versa...so what would i do if i wanted a 4 channel amp for my speakers

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
LOL
ive got the 3-way 4x6 in my car, not much better sounding than stock. get a 6.5" and do yourself a favor. if you dont want them, lemme know ill sell you mine.

i had a set of 4x6 3 way (TS-A4670R) in my car when i upgraded from factory. my upgraded 6x9's completely shut them out. they sounded good, but to actually tell they were there and really hear them, i had to adjust the fade to the front a little bit. just recently i upgraded to a set of infinity 6 1/2 components and couldn't be happier...
oh and non of mine are running of an amp...just the deck.
GO PATS!!!
Ive got no qualms at all about my 04 3 way 4x6's and 6x9's. They were amazing with a crappy Sony headunit for the 6 months i had them w/o subs. And they still are my only choice. especially for the money
I am gonna buy the pioneers (both 4x6 and 6x9). i think i am gonna go with a 100x4 amp... probably alpine cause the store doesnt have any pioneer amps. I am also gonna have the big 3 done too. The reason why i am getting all that is because when i go back to japan for another 8 months (next week) i plan on taking my subs out so my dad can use my car for traveling in. I might keep the subs out untill i get another car and leave my cavi with the deck and the new speakers for the stereo system and use the cavi as my travel car. I am looking into getting an SUV for a kick ass system install. Thanks for the inputs on the speakers though. I will let you all know how they do tomorrow
I'm tellin ya brother, 6 1/2 > 4x6. Adapters are easy to make or cheap to get on ebay, and it'll sound a million times better.
Exactly. 4x6 sound isn't very good, thought I'd get away easy in the Gf's car, but I replaced it with the components within 2 weeks.
I have the Pioneer 4X6 2 Way in my doors and they are not very loud, but they are very clear. They get loud enough for me.

Every install I've done and heard with the 4x6's in the doors is pitiful to say the least. They don't get very loud at all; you have to almost bend forward to hear them.
Well I think the 4x6 sounds great. I am not wanting bass at all from them... just the clarity of them, and i think they are really clear. The 6x9s are doing wayy better than my power acoustik's did. But I am content with the pioneers for now. This is just a temp setup untill i get back from japan in october (so i hope). then i will probably redo my system (if i dont buy a bigger car first). Thanks for everyones help.
Why not do it right the first time?
cause i wanted something that was quick and easy to install for a temp thing. Cause my old speakers took a crap on me. And being that i only have limited time here and have no materials to fab brackets for 6.5s i just figured i would go for the 4x6 in the doors for now. besides when i come back to the states in october, i plan on giving most of my set up to my brother and pulling my interior and trunk carpet out and starting over the correct way (dynomat and false floor (keeping the spare in the spare space)). The 4x6 is just a temp thing
