How good is this stuff and is it worth it? I dont have the money for dynamat so im limited.
sorry, heres some details
SPRAY DEADENER damping 12005 rust dynasheild dynamat
This is the best stuff. Rubberized spray on, and quick dry. deadens sound 4 times better than applying the mat. It also contains 35% more rubber than any other spray on dradeners in the market. It also does not deteriorate when it freezes like dynasheild does.
Fleet spray is a completely new method for damping vibrations in body panels with less weight than using Dynamat, or other heavy rubber sheets. Unique viscoelastic coating with damping properties that adhere to all types of metals, fiberglass, carbon, and plastic body parts. Gets rid of those annoying vibrations, and keeps sound waves pure.

Do you have a referance to where you got that info from?
Nice username, lol.
I'd be worried about controlling the spray, evenly coating, etc. Example being, the doors. It seems like you'd spend a LOT of time masking off all the moving parts, etc.
k I dont know where the baby came from but you can kind of see the sound damping spray lol

Heres the link :
sound deadener
Ley me guess, your one of those people that buy the perforamance chips too huh?
umm thats not sound deadener thats the same stuff you can get from pepboys for like 2 bucks a can, don't get it
Spray works, but not as well as most mats.
Proof ?
DO a side by side comparision with a peice of sheet metal with both peices covered in each product, YOU will notice that the mats dampens better by ear alone... NO fancy "gizmo's" required.
My Cav
I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
hey sweetnloud you arent referring to the stuff that i suggested are you?
I use something like that but way cheaper for my underbody. As a sound deadener, I'd go with mat. Looks like your stuff has asphalt in it, not as good as the rubber stuff.
no im not a big ebay user nor do i purchase the chips.
sound deadener's do work but the stuff on e-bay is just underbody spray that you can get for 1.99 or 2.99 at any auto parts store.
aight well thanks again for everyones help. I was very skeptical on it anyways.
You should check out the group purchases - there's 100 sq ft of sound deadener for 79.95 + shipping.
how would you put a mat like fat mat on the exterior side of the panels._-- behind the speakers--_ im just not sure theres alot of room back there?

JBO'S Mr. 64.....
For the door panels? It's not hard at all, just put it in around the speaker area.
That eBay item looks like your basic rubberized undercoating, which is not too close to being an effective dampener.
Don't expect miracle using an spray-on dampener. Yes, it works, but not usually as effective as the mat. Maybe close, maybe not.
the CAE product that I mentioned above is a very well known product and works just as well if not better than the mat. This product if applied properly will deadened anything, and keep your sound on the inside of your vehicle, PLUS, its a bonus cause if you still want to go fast, there is no weight to it like compared to the mat, the Alpine vehicles that you see all done up use this product also just go to the website and check it out, its definitly a product worth trying.
Not really. It's asphalt, it's cheap stuff, cheap to make. They charge WAY too much for it.
are you fn retarded this is the stuff that alpine installers use its not asphalt and cheap to make you dont even know what you are talking about!!! maybe the stuff that dufushead was talking about but this is high quality @!#$, Maybe you should check out the website and do some reading up on this stuff cause you dont know what the hell you are saying, are you just trying to bash everything i say or something get a life and put your own comments down about stuff there is nothing wrong with this product ITS NOT ASPHALT ITS AUDIO DEADNING SPRAY
no im talking behind the... nevermind ill figure it out...

I personally prefer to spray the outer skins. i used about three liters of some RF stuff per door on my old astro van's doors. then three layers of mat on the inner skin.
