Need Help I suck at this

Well I am thinking (not 100 of redoing my system. Right now I have a 12" vega a rockford fosgate 1500 amp.

I might want to upgrade. Not sure what I want, this is where I need you help.

I like rap and some music that has quick hits of bass (ex: Euro) Love to have the bass hit hard.

heres what I'm thinking about (note: This is going to be on a stock head unit NOT AN OPTION this I want)

- 2 or 3 10's or 1 new 12"

I don't really feel like spending an as$ load of cash. So what subs are recomended or what size? Should I get a new amp or not? This will be a custom enclosure and port v.s. non port isn't a problem.

If you need any more input from me just let me know I'm not nuts out with audio I know ghost flames and other stuff lol.

Just do 2 good 12's in a ported box, but don't skimp on quality.

See if I do a 12 I only want one that is for "show" reasons. Just won't fit the look I'm going for.

if you love bass and deep bass go with one 15" kicker L7 nothing will touch it!! aspecially if you put at least 800 watts RMS to it I had one in a focus with an 500 Watt RMS alpine amp running it and just 4awg wire with one cap and it hit 147db and shock stones on the ground, if you use 2 or 0 awg wire and a cap with 1000 watts RMS nothing will compare and you will feel sick to your stomach

Wow.....you're recomending 0-2 awg for 1,000 watts? Kinda overkill huh. 4ga should be enough for the kind of amperage draw from 1000 watts.

You sure you install custom car stereos? lol

o or 2awg wire isnt overkill for that sub and a 1000 watt amp, how do you think i hit a 147db, try running 4awg on that set up I guarantee that you wont hit harder than 142db, and by the way Im older than you (young jedi) lol

i ran 4ga and hit 144db..... so it can hit it.... :-p

Man i'd use 4 ot wire. Doubled! I'd also tie it in knots so you can actually double the current thru it. /end bs

Cav2nv420, seriously, some of this info you're giving out is scary.

Fatallic - do you plan on using your spare tire area? If not, do 1 or 2 subs there, or you could get a shallow mount sub and build small boxes in the corners. You could do an infinity basslink, there's tons of stuff you can do. So what's this "look" that you're doing so we can better assist you?

If you notice, at the end, i have /end bs. It's bullcrap dude, read a little better. I'm running a little more than 1000 watts and 1 sub brother, and even with just 1 sub and 1000 watts, i could still blow you out of the water. and so could soundsgood, so could wysiwig, so could minetti, so could cavi in kc, so could lash, so could sweetnloud, and so could cavi sedan ls (and everyone else i forgot).

Dude STFU there are a handful of people in this forum who are intelligent. Wysi, lanman, lash, Mike and mark, sndsgood. If i forgot you sorry but you know who I respect around here. Unfortunately you arent one of them. When was the last time you saw any 1000 watt amp capable of accepting 0 gauge? or even have two four gauge inputs? There arent any. dont say no crap smart guy you use an adapter to size it down. FOr every day use 4 gauge is fine. As for your 147 with 500 watts. um no sunshine. To even come close on the only meter that counts, which is the termlab you'd have to have a one not wonder box set up perfectly with perfect voltage and perfect weather and pigs flying. Just isnt gonna happen. especially if it is in the trunk of a cavalier. Then to shock stones you are gonna have to have a box capable of thunderous low notes. So which is it? Dont come on here and say something stupid like we'll see in a competition this summer because i live in NY. You live in ontario. Yeah im gonna drive that distance to show you that you are a tool. Don't say that I'm just mad because your car is louder than mine because mine would eat your proclaimed 147 alive and still be hungry afterwards. Mine does alot more than that and shocks small children

buddy i have a wall and two xxx 15s with over 3kw of power and the electrical to back it up. so um no. BTW i ran 4 1000bds which is the same as a 1001bd and it didnt have 1/0 gauge inputs. just 4 gauge. no maybe if you are talking about a t10001bd thats a little bit different. but if you would care to wager your car is louder than mine id be willing to wager. do you want this install or the new one coming?

i sense a disturbance in the force, where many of jbo members will get together and shake apart the earth, and only one will stand crying with his 4 gauge outputs on his power 1001bd. I just checked my amps, my hk401sx has 2 gauge connectors.

Yeah... about right for an amp thats .5 ohm stable and puts out 1800 watts.

Yes it does accept 0 gauge which is fricken ridiculous for an amp thats ratted at 500x1 @4 ohm and 1000x1 @ 1 ohm. Maybe if you're running 4 of them...then yeah...a 0 gauge main feed would be nice. It also says it the description "A large capacitor is recommended". How lame. How about upgrading the elec. system the RIGHT way.

hey n8ball2013 if you were listening i said my 1 -12" and 1000 watts versus your 1 -12" and 1000watts not your wall lol obviously a wall and 3000watts is definetly louder im in a totally differnt class than you if you come to my class then we will see what you can do, and lash im running 2 awg from the front battery to the back with a battery in the trunk with two audiobahn digital capacitors so for right now, i dont need to upgrade my altenator until i am running around 2000watts

you said my car vs yours. my car has a wall and 2 15s.

im sorry i apologize to you, I was referring to lanman who said, "I'm running a little more than 1000 watts and 1 sub brother, and even with just 1 sub and 1000 watts, i could still blow you out of the water" that was who i was challenging, not you n8ball, once again i apologize to you for all the bs that was being said to each other
