You're not going to get 2 ohms with 3 dual 2 ohm voice coil subs. You're going to need 2 4 ohm voice coil subs and 1 2 ohm voice coil sub.

You'll still need 2 dual 4's and a dual 2.

You can do a series/parallel set up (both used when wiring) and get 2.6 ohms. thats as close as your gonna get with 3 dual 4 ohm subs.

3rd down on the left.

If you do 2 dual 4 ohm in parallel (1 ohm) in series with a dual 2 ohm in parallel (1 ohm) that will give you 2 ohms. It wouldn't matter since they both look the same (dual 2 and dual 4 alpines)

you can use 3 dual 4ohm subs that will give you a 2.67 ohm load go to rockfordfosgate.com bottom right corner go to woofer wiring wizard there will tell you how to wire all three

I had 3 12" type r's before. I know how to do that and what models I need lol. plus the diagram shows how to wire them up to 2 ohm. I know I'll be more around 1800-1900 RMS after it's all said and done but from a 900 watt sony on the old r's thats a major improvement

My question is why would you do 2.67 ohms when you can do 2 ohms?

I guess I could do that wouldnt it cause a problem having it wired up that way?

wow. just wow. i knew i joined the jbo for some reason. so let me get this straight: mr the01cav's car would be better at 2.67 ohm instead of 2 ohm? i don't get the logic. please, enlighten us all. the01cav - there would be NO problem the way I explained, you'll have 2 ohms, and life will be good

hey lanman the ohms being a 2ohm or a 2.67 ohm doesnt make a difference yes but why would you buy 2 -dual4ohm subs and 1 -dual2ohm sub when you can buy all three at dual 4ohms? If later down the road he wanted to run just one or just two, the ohms would be all the same if you kept them the same, if not he will have a mixture of subs with different ohms, it just seems much easier keeping everything the same

You'd buy them so you can HAVE 2 OHM WHICH IS WHAT HIS AMP IS RATED FOR. At a later date, he can do whatever he wants, but for right now, he wants 3 subs, and has a 2 ohm amp.
