ok about a year ago I had a wall with 4 memphis pr 15's. I sold that car and told myself i wasnt going to do that anymore. i hit a 156.8 in outlaw and 154.0 in spl. I eventually sold the pr15's and came across a memphis HP 12. got a box and used my old mephis 500d amp. with my amp, line driver , and digital capacitor I metered at 151.4 for outlaw and 150.4 for spl. I think that is pretty impressive for 1 12" running just a 500d. oh and by the way...... its a stock radio. let me know what you think???
other pics of my system can be seen at

o i forgot they dont make ho's anymore they are M1's now. if you cant tell, i dotn deal with anything other than memphis
What is it tuned at? How many cubes?
What mic was used when you hit those numbers?
150 seems like alot with that set-up.
thats what I thought.. at the time. term pro i think is what the spl meter but as far as the measurse of the box i cant for the life know what it is since its a prefabed and i never measured the total space. its alot of math, some of which i do not know of. i had tried to take a pic when it was metered but it didnt come out right so i have to go back to by buddys store and get it metered again
termpro i think i can get a better answer on tues when i go up to the shop
Well...since termrpo is a website (by termlab)...you were on a termlab mic. Also....I'm guessing the mic was placed at the port....or in the trunk....correct? Outlaw is usually right at the port.
You'll see a much lower legal number at the dash, headrest, or kick pannel..... as this is where most people get mic'd from.
If it wasn't placed in the trunk or port....it was probably an audiocontrol mic....which really mean nothing in terms of legal scores sice they tend to be pretty inaccurate.
term pro is the older db drag mic the term lab is the newer one.
even on the older term pro thats vary hard to belive i was doin 149-150 with a single re se 12, viper 2500D and a 3 cubic ft box with 40" of port tuned in the 40's
also what did the mic look like and where did they place it
the mic was on a tripod so to speak, with another pole coming across it kinda like a microphone when a singer sings. it was sitting on my passenger seat, facing to the front of the car, and pointing toward the front of the front windshield. the only reason they considered it outlaw is b/c i had my door open.
...cont. the mic had a long wire to it, it was connected to a computer, the computer read the db. i did pass math/numbers so that was what it said.
I do know that they use those mics when they have sound comps every year. so i dont know what to tell you guys except for i can take a pic next time and of the computer, mic and the readout of the comp screen
Oh.... we believe you that it read that number....it really all depends on what mic was used though. For example....the audiocontrol mic can read 8 db higher than a termlab. So now that 150 is now a 142.
Also depends on if the mic was calibrated correctly.
All I know is a 150 aint gonna happen with that set-up on a new termlab (termlab is pretty much the standard these days).
150......... I know guys pushing American Bass amps on their MT's barely hitting 149........Sorry man, but something is up.
My Cav
I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
well like i said i get get the exact specs of everything so everything can be finalized. i wouldnt see why that particualr shop would have any other mic than one of the best cosidering they are very ruptable in raleigh/garner and have actually done work for a few celebs. ex. petey pablo so for the sake of argument we will say 142.4 to me thats still pretty good considering its 1 12" with a 500d, when i have a buddy running 2 12" memphis m3 followed by 2-500d in a ported box hitting on the same mic a 149 which by the termanology used would be a 141. my car doesnt rattle my eyes anymore but it serves its purpose for bass.
