I wanted to share with everyone what my car looked like after I took the dash out. I took the dash out to vinyl the underneath blue. Then I noticed all the wiring that had collected from over the year. (Underbody kit, 7" lcd, headunit, amp kit, Python 871xp 2-way RS Alarm, and my dvd player.) I never really wired anything in loom or hockey tape. I guess I never thought of the outcome. So now I am spending the next few day cutting and routing all the wiring onto the roll cage and hockey taping it all. So just letting everyonw know to do it the FIRST time.
Oh and GM SUCKS BALLS for making us have to take off the steering whell to get the dash off.

Hehe. Already put it back together. And if you were wondering, the dash is two-tone. The top is stock charcoal and the bottom is a blue.

Er, you don't have to take the steering wheel off to take the dash off.

What? The only way you wouldn't have to take the steering wheel off is if your dash came apart by your legs. What year do you have? In a 2002, the dash is all one piece.
I dunno, I've taken the entire top and front trim piece including gauge cluster without touching the steering wheel. I have an '03, and I've also done the same to a '00 Sunfire, dunno if they're the same... I never touched the bottom half of the dash, so maybe that's what needs the steering wheel removed?

Ya you havn't taken the whole litteral dash off yet then.

A question about takeing the dash apart,does the air-bag cover just snap of are does it come of with the hole dash.also that passenger side vent,are there screws holding it together.
The vents just pop out. For the air bag you have to take the top cover off the entire dash, remove the AIRB FUSE, remove the yellow harness on the airbag, and take the bag off with 4 screws.
