Fatmat - making sure it sticks

Hey, I am about to get a roll of 50sq feet of fatmat to do my door panels, the trunk and rear quarter panels, if I can get to them. I'd also like to do some under the front dash since that rattles a little too. Will it even stick there, if its not on metal? I will be using this stuff in prob 35-45 degree weather, will that matter? Also, my car is black, will it get too hot in the summer and start pealing off, also the pittsburgh winters can be pretty cold too, will that be a problem also? I was thinking maybe I could get a real good tape and seal all the edges of the fatmat when I put it down. Any ideas. Up till now, I've been just shoving old tshirts and couch foam into the big places that move too much and vibrate. I wanted to put a layer of this stuff down and hopefully not have to resort to the couch stuffing as much, lol.

PS. GO STEELERS! That was one hell of a game!

I put about 50-75 sq. ft. of it in my car so I'll try to help. If you are installing the product in that cold of weather, you may want to consider using a heat gun to try to make it a little bit more sticky and pliable. I didn't have any problems with it not sticking, you just need to be sure that you apply enough pressure (i used a roller for wallpaper), just be sure that you really take the time to get it all stuck down and that isn't any air between the fatmat and the metal. The winters shouldn't cause any problems once its on. I live in Indiana and it can get pretty cold up here and I have yet to see any problems. Only problem I had once was a sheet on my trunk lid came partially "unstuck" due to my lack of a good install. I just put another piece on there and spent more time getting everything smoothed down and I have never had a problem with it since. I would say as long as you take your time, clean everything before you stick the fatmat to it, and make sure you get it all down good that you won't have any problems. I'll through in an old pic of my trunk lid that may help. I know others have pictures of the actual install.

Mike,
I have over a 100 sqft in of fatmat in my cav since last year and none have come loose.

I installed my in semi cold, i heated my sheets up before i installed them. For example, cut a 8 in wide strip, peel the wax paper off and I put it in my oven or gas grill for 10 seconds, not too long so you can handle it. just long enought to make it more flimsy.
smooth on with hands with to a small sections and then use a roller to get all the air bubbles out.

Check out my install here

I am in Pittsburgh also
