Enough power to run...
Saturday, January 14, 2006 11:14 PM
Hey,
I'm hoping somebody will be able to help me out.
I plan on running...
2 - Alpine MRD-M605 amps LINK
1 - Alpine MRV-F345 amp LINK

Will I be able to run these all with a stock alternator but upgraded to a yellowtop???
I was thinking of doing dual batteries with one in the trunk for just the amps but I was thinking I might have to upgrade to a bigger alternator. idk. I am basically wondering what I will need to run these.

Also could you answer those questions for...
2 - Apline MRD-M1005 amps LINK
1 - Alpine MRV-F545 amp LINK

Thanx,
-Seth

You'll be fine, I ran a sub amp that was MUCH more powerful than you have there off of the stock alternator and a yellow top.

you dont even need a yellow top. i work at costco and there is a battery made by johnson controlls that puts out very close to the yellows. costs alot less.

by the way... why do you need the two amps??

were you going to run for fronts and subs? if so get a "tri mode" amp.

tri modes allow a 2/1 chanel amp to run bridged for your sub and still use two chanels for your fronts.

Im using the 2 mono amps for my subs and the 4 channel for my front and rear.

One more question, could be stupid and i'll prolly get flamed but should I put a cap in there too???

Thanks for all for the help.

Don't use a cap.

unless you are seriously competeing you dont need to upgrade alternator, just upgrade power wire to 2 or 0 guage you wont believe the difference, i would use a motomaster eliminator spiral battery and a 1farad cap per amp if you want clean power if you dont want to spend money on two caps thats fine also, dont waste your money on an optima just paint the top of any battery yellow if your hard up for one lol
