Been looking into this amp to push either a pair of 12" Type R's or a pair of 12" Kicker CVR's, and no one I have spoken with has any experience with PA at all. So hopefully I can get some advice here.

Their decent for the price. Bit of an overkill for those subs IMO....especially with the kickers.
But for $50 more you can have this:

Hope you plan on upgrading your entire electrical system...lol.
Personally...I think you'd be fine with something that puts out around 1200 at 1 ohm. (600 per sub). 2300 watts for either pair is just ridiculous.
i had some great power and reliability out of my power acoustik gothic series ov2-300 i powered a 12" orion k2 (a 10 yr old sub hard to find) for almost 2 years (in 3 vehicles 89 dodge caravan, plymouth breeze, chevy cavalier)
but i required more power (don't we all) so i bought a sony amp (one i had reserched) from a pawn shop and have had nothing but problems
ive blown 4 subs since i got my new amp and have in the last week decided to get a whole new system
and i think power acoustik is my ticket (sony has lost alot of quality in the last 4 years)
driving fast never killed anyone it was the sudden stop
