Should be a clean sounding audio system I'm hoping for. I'm also using a Rockford 1 farad capacitor. I already have the head unit, door speakers, and sub. My girl wants to get me the mono amp as a late x-mas gift. I plan to have it all done by then to ensure that I have all the money for it.

Is this goin to be a good lower budget setup for some decent sq? Thats all I'm lookin for is a lil bit better sound out of my ride. I listed to alot of stuff. Rock, Classic rock, Rap, Country. I like my music and am lookin for something to sound good. I mean right now it's alright but am lookin for better.

forget the sony if your budget wise look into a lower end alpine or a pioneer i swear by them

The sony is fine, they sound just fine as long as you don't use the internal amp and just use the RCA outs

Sony sux, also I wouldn't use the reference line from infinity. Most of the other infinity stuff is great!

Sony is not that bad ( long as its just the HU). I have no complaints with the HU but Its the amps and subs to stay away from unless ur just looking for just a lil bump and not trying to blow ur eardrums out. IMO

How long is the port?
I think the box is small for a ported box. You're looking at 1.6ft^3 TOTAL.....without subtracting port and sub displacement. You'll probably be close to 1 cu. ft. after subtracting those. For my single SE10 I started with 1.8 ft^3 before sub and port...after it came out to 1.4 ft^3. I know it's a different sub but I'd still go bigger. Sometimes spec boxes aren't the best.
I would probably go with a 1.75-2" wide port or so just to get more port area....and of course a little bigger box...probably around 2 ft^3 or a little bigger without subtracting for displacements tuned to around the lower-mid 30's.
For SQ try to stay in the low 30's for tuning. 30-33 is good.
the vent lenght is 22.75" this is what alpine has in there book that comes with the type R could you give me some dimensions for it otherwise? I thought about usin there dimensions as internal dimensions as apposed to external

It determines the tuning of the box. Typically longer means lower.
Right now I can't even determine the tuning of that box because my port calc. wont let me enter a port with a width height ration more than 1:8. Right now that port is at 1:9.6. A 2"x12" vent would be a 1:6 ratio. The ratio is usually used to keep port noise down.
This box building site may be usefull to you. Just enter the sub info along with 2 sides lenghts you have figured for your box (measure and see how much room you have...or want to take up. The program will automatically figure the 3rd. based on the vol. of the box you enter), and enter what freq you want the box tuned at. 30-33 is usually good for a SQ/SQL mix. It will pop up a window with the box drawn out. it will even print out a cut list for all the pieces you need to cut. Very helpfull site.

I would go with components instead of the coaxials and the extra set of tweeters in the front.
