Im not too sure if im getting a good ground. Is there any way to check and see if im actually getting a good ground. I have the wire hooked up under the back seats to the seatbelt bolts. anyone can help?
Do you have a multimeter?
i would say thats one of the best choices on a car for a ground. On most cars. thats my 2 cents.. But yea locate a multimeter.

that sounds like a spot i would do it too
hmmmm.... I am confused, and the Blonde genius that is me,
does not easily get confused
I'm using that spot in my Cavalier, working fine for me as far as I can tell.
Did you sand the spot? How long a ground wire do you have? Is it the same gauge as your power wire? Those would all make a big difference.
the wires match up... i must have blown my amp because its always in protection mode now. everytime i put the remote wire in, the red protection light turns on. i guess i just need a new amp. i opened the one i have and it doesnt seem burnt out anywhere. oh wellz...
what amp you got?

Do you have any wires with insulation rubbed off that's touching metal somewhere? Go back and look through it all.
well ive noticed that everytime i hit a bump on the road, my domelight turns on and then shuts off slowly. u think a wire is exposed to metal or something? cuz i havent had the chance to check out why its doing that...
lol i would laugh so hard if my car did that... hahah sorry... lol
yea it kinda sucks... sometimes it freaks me out at night... cuz the light just catches me off guard. but on a serious note, do you think why maybe my amp is going to protection mode?
First check your power wire connection to your battery. Jiggle it around to see if it's loose or not. If that's not it....look at the connections to the amp. Make sure they're stable. If that's not it, first i'd check the ground. If your ground is exposed to metal and it keeps bouncing off the metal, it would do that. I have my amp grounded to my rear strut tower. If its not that, you may have a power connection of some sort loose inside your amp. You can almost rule out having your power wire exposed. If that wire is exposed to metal before it gets to your amp, you'll short out, blow a fuse, and your amp won't power up at all. So i'd say check your battery, amp power and ground connections. Then check where you grounded it. It has to be a solid tight connection that won't bounce around. Otherwise i'd say possibly the amp.
Let me know what happens. Kinda interested in what's going on for my own curiosity.

lmao my crx does the same thing! I always freaked out thinkin it was the cops or something behind me on a bumpy road cuz itd go on off on off on off. i just shut the stupid thing off. But what i think it is is a faulty switch in my rear hatch. Glad im not the only one that happns to.
Anyways. how is your amp wired?
