stock cd player skipping when cold?

hey guys i have a stock delco cd player out of a 98 grand am se identical to the one in sunfires and this being my first winter with my car when ever it gets cold it refuses to play cds and if it does it will sound real scratchy. with it being in the 20's all week it takes a good 15 mins before i can even get the cd to play without having a error and spitting it out. i searched couldnt find anything on this, is it a common problem, can it be solved witha cd lense cleaner?

thanks

When it's cold out the cd or the laser lens can get fogged up, causing it to not be able to read the disk untill it warms up enough to clear up, kinda like the windsheild of the car. I've seen it still happen with aftermarkets, but if you get a quality deck it shouldn't be much of a problem. I'm not sure if it's because the aftermarkets generate more heat because they're higher power, or just have a better laser in them.
