Linear Actuator in junkyard

Hey

Does anyone know of where I might be able to find some linear actuators in a junkyard. I am planning to use them to lift amp "racks" in my trunk but I figured I would try to find some in the junkyard before i bought them new. Also, if you don't know where to look in the junkyard, where is a good place to buy them...??? Is ebay good??
TIA

-Seth

I am not sure if you could get what you need from a cars that have hidden headlights, like...

80's Toyota Celica and Supra?
Miata?
80's Nissan 200sx?

I remember reading, or seeing on TV, about using headlight actuators for amp racks, etc. I am unsure if I am thinking along the lines you are though.

-Now i just need to find that new of a van. The only problem that I think I might come into is that actuator being too big.

-Good call, now I have something to look for. The amp will be flat on the floor and then will raise up to an angle so this might work perfectly.

How about power antennas? They put out a good bit of force.

I was thinking about that too. I wasn't sure if they would be able to put out enough force to lift/push about 10-15 pounds.
