How much of a difference is there between running one sub with a given amount of power.. or two subs, same kind as the one....and with the same power going to each...like....
a 12 inch with 1000 watts...or...
a two 12 inch's with 1000 watts a piece...
how much of a difference is there cuz im thinkin of doubling up my sub...

6 dB can be alot depending on what the base dB is... I know I noticed a huge difference goin from 300w on 1 sub to 400 each on 2 subs.
Yes, doubling the power and adding a second sub should give you around 6Db, but it won't sound 4 times or even 2 times louder. To sound twice as loud to the human ear you need a gain of 10Db, but you will definitely notice 6. If you want to be louder, that's an easy way to get there, it's just up to you to decide how much louder you want to be.

All you really need is one good speaker and amp. I have one 12 and a 900 class D amp, the best it has hit before was a 140 on the DB scale. But then again i have a JL Audio W6 and a 900 Planet auido class D amp. the loudest i listen to it is on 20 ( my deck goes to 40 ) and it does not sound like A@S out side the car it sounds nice. I say just go with one great set up.
