for the record.. ive searched.. but just dont understand what little results I can find

I am working on an all alpine setup and for my front speakers I am looking at Type X 5.25" components or the 6.5" Type R components....

I would prefer the 6.5" but it requires 3" mounting depth and the 5.25 Type X takes 2.5" mounting depth and I am not sure what I will be able to fit in the door. I really dont want to relocate my window like darkstars just to get my door speakers in, but going all alpine with component is importaint to me.

There were speakers installed in my car when I got it and there a 6.5" in it now, with a wooden spacer but they arent near that deep and I dont want to buy something that wont fit, so if anyone has any experience with this would be great.

I dont want to get into kick panels because I heard they suck to hook up and id like to retain as stock of a look as far as speakers hanging out as possible.. which means I still dont know where to put the tweeters as to where they arent visible but thats another story..

Does anyone know if there is a Type R 5.25 ? and if so where to get them.. I cant get any info on them, but I heard there are out there ?
