On my reference sheet i got from astrochart it said (white)but that was for a 2.2 i thought and i have the 2.4.Well i did my searching and see that they say (violet/white)
so not being to sure i tested all the wires starting with the first one in the plug.I got to the yellow one and then did the violet/white and got the same reading.
so i asked the instruter and he said it didn't matter witch one of those wires i used.so i t-taped the yellow wire.
just want to know if i should change it and go to the (violet/white) are just keep it where it is.
i already solder'ed and spilt loomed it also
Heres what i mean by T-Tap
and the plug i tested
Got the same reading on the yellow and the violet/white,also found out that the inkectors have to wires comming from them and one 1 is common.
what year is the car?

ive never seen it as yellow on ANY gm car. its GONNA be white or purple or purple/white. those three colors cover pretty much EVERY gm ive done.

The engine harness is found next to the battery, below the radiator hose, just above the transaxle.

You shouldn't be using a meter or probe on a tach wire. You could easily damage the ECU

You mean a test light my friend,a DMM is what your suppost to use
correct! ac scale. and if i had done a 2.4l i would know for sure. but that wiring info comes from audiovox. they and dei are THE last word in online wiring. but gm always uses white or purple or purple/white for tach. i have never seen a gm use anything else.

ok, dei says purple/white. but its not gonna be yellow. what i do is i print out audiovox and dei info for the car im doing. i try audiovox first, and if it doesnt program i use dei-if different.
you can tell in like 10 sec if it will program with the wire yer on. i dont pay too much mind to burning anything out as this is a "sense" wire. now a load wire, and POOF!

this is complete bs btw. where are you going to school. i went to snake pit, and none of my instructers EVER said anything like this.
