I am picking up a RE MT 15", i was what kind of amp should i pick up to power it? Usually i wouldnt ask but i am not quite sure what kind of power is really needed for the sub. My current system is an alpine deck, 15" kicker L7 and some crappy amp, I was thinking about going for a little bit more quality with a Clarion DXZ955MC, with the RE sub, so i was just wondering what a quality amp would be for the sub.
Thanks
The MT is RE's hardcore SPL sub, and can take pretty much anything. If it comes with stiff spiders and surround (which most do) it will take alot more power to make it perform (ie it won't be as efficient). You didn't mention anything about your plans (do you want to compete?) or your budget for an amp. You can get away with giving it 500-1000wrms, but if you plan on competing or just want to get as much as you can out of it, look into an Orion 2500D (or two, or its Viper/Directed siblings) or even bigger/more expensive amps. Let us know what your budget and goals are, and we'll try and point you in the right direction.
The 50-50-90 rule: Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.
the new thunder super mtx amps are really nice also. mtx's parent comp[any-mitek corp bought out xtant! so now mtx amps have the same technology-check 'em out if you can budget a mid priced amp.
