I bought two 10-inch AW1000Q subwoofers. They can handle up to
600 watts RMS each and are dual four ohm voice coils. So I need some help choosing an amp because I really have no clue as to how powerful my amp(s) should be. I was thinking maybe the KENWOOD KAC-X811D 1600 Watt Class D Mono Amplifier. Heres the link
Amp Would this be enough to power both subs? If not is there anything anyone could recommend. Thanks.
Just incase you wanted to know.

If you can find a 1200 watt 2 channel amp, that would be about perfect.
Wow, thanks a lot for the help! so maybe something like this?
2 Channel Amp
Go for the class D. Most 2 channel amps are only going to be stable down to 4 ohms when the channels are bridged, so unless you find one stable down to 2, you won't be getting the most power out of the amp.

that kenwood is junk..your only gonna see about 400-500 watts out of it EVER, lol.
POWER RATINGS
- Bridged Power Output at 12V (1kHz, 0.5% THD): 400 Watts x 1
- Bridged Power Output at 14.4V (1kHz, 0.5% THD): 600 Watts x 1

if the power ratings are cea2006 compliant you WILL get that power! i have the 9152d and i had to wire my mtx thunder super 7500 12"s at 8 ohms, cuz the amp is too much.. i install kenwood amps, and have no probs with them, and neither do my customers. what do you have in your ride? i would show you whats in mine, but cardomain is messed up for whatever reason.

Well, I had alot of semi-decent stuff in my car until it all got stolen in sept. The only things they left in the car were my pioneer speakers and my bazooka amp. My parents bought me the 2 10inch audiobahns for my b-day so i have been trying to save up for a new amp. Right now I have a pioneer premier cd player DEH-P770MP and my pioneer speakers 6x9 TS-A6981R and the 4x6 TS-A4670R. Its not much, but it'll hold my appetite until i get out of college in the spring. I dont know much about car audio yet so i just wanna make sure i get the right amp for x-mas. Thanks for the help
thats cool, and sorry to hear about you gettin ripped off. i stand behind what i install, and for the price i dont think you can touch kenwood......and once again cea compliant power ratings. my kenwood amp section is 1.18 kilowatts........i have yet to hear anyone refer to it as "junk" i know were not talking about the same amps as dude has, but still. do me a personal favor, and resist the temptation to dish on kenwood. PLEEEEEEEASE?

If you can find an amp that puts out 600x2 into 2 ohms, that's the best bet but realistically you'll probably save money by getting two Class D amps rated at 600 rms at 2 ohms. A 600x2 amp can be hard to find without selling your left nut and maybe your leg.
"Silly cluth, glazing is for donuts!"
a kenwood 9152d would work nice, but youd have to go conservative on the gain. i sell em for 300.00, places that deal in volume could get you one for less prolly. it puts out 500/850/900 at 4/2/1 ohm. yeah, i know, i am on the big sell for kenwood, its just that its good stuff, at little more than jensen prices!

As long as his gains are set properly, 900wrms should never hurt those subs (provided they can truly take 600wrms each). Throwing them clipped power due to improper gain settings, well that's another story altogether.
It's all fun and games until you catch your first wiff of scorched voicecoil
The 50-50-90 rule: Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.
I have a kenwood KAC-8401 amp. it is 640x2 @ 2ohm. PM me if you are interested.
