Elemental Designs

Ive been running elemental designs gear for over 2 years now and just wanted to spead the word about them. They are a fairly new company thats been around for about 3 years now. Ive became a friend with the owner Ben Milne over the past couple years. hes a pretty cool down to earth guy. he started the company when he was 19 out of his basement. ive been out to Iowa where he is located at last summer to visit the facility. the company is growing leaps and bounds over the past couple years.

elemental designs started a name for themselves with their flagship sub. the A-series. i owned a 15A. very agressive and in your face sub. it was reviewed by Performance Audio and Sound magazine and the reviewer stated "everyone should own one of these"

http://www.elementaldesigns.com/

they have now moved into their v.2 lines of speakers. the Kv.2- the entry level. the Ov.2 the mid line. and still in development the Av.2

for component speakers they offer two lines. the 6500 compenents speakers which are 6.5" high end that used to be $350 dollars but recently dropped to $250. and the 6000s the entry level line of 6.5"

they also offer a 7" Midbass driver/ small space subwoofer called the eu-700. there is a guy who did 15 of these in his matrix. and another guy named chris who works for eD that is putting 32 in his Scion TC.

they offer a full line of amps. from a 1200 watt mono. to a 4 channel.

last is a line of deadening materials. from metal deadeners. to a polymer based liquid deadener called eDead v.3.

the whole reason behind me posting this was to give ppl a little background in the company and let them know that they are offering a limited time Pre production prices on most of their subwoofers as seen here. http://www.icixsound.com/vb/showthread.php?t=18428

they also offer forum discounts. if enough interest is shown i can get jbody.org added to the discount forum list as seen here. http://www.edesignaudio.com/forum_discount.php

they have also had 3 products reveiwed in the last 3 months of Performance Audio and Sound magazine.

last thing the forum that they sponsor called Icixsound. the address is http://www.icixsound.com/ its a great website to ask car audio questions. or keep up on all the new stuff from elemental designs.

thanks for your time.

have they fixed their customer service and all the people who had jacked up gear that never got replaced under warranty?
Re: Elemental Designs

to be honest with you. almost 95% of ppl that ive heard badmouth eD has never owned an eD product in their life. as for customer service i havent heard anyone complain in a long time. i know all 3 guys taht work there, very good guys. as for the products taht they had problems with. they where the old 15A's. their build house at the time TC Sounds. used the wrong glue mixture and the T-Joint seperated from the cone. not all 15a;s did this. but most did. due to the build house not doing their job. and eD got the bad wrap. TC sounds even sold some QC rejected speakers to ppl on the interent. they marketed them as eD gear and then when something went wrong with them, the customer would call up ben and try to get warranty. when he never sold the speaker.

holy @!#$ fanboy. all subs are going to have problems. The brahma tinsel lead slap was fixed. and I've blown an RE XXX. Of course it had more than 400 watts on it like the ED A had on it. And I've never had any problems with RE sending me subs. What about ED's preorders that kept getting pushed back and pushed back after people paid. people smoking the A on a couple hundred watts which was like a quarter of rated power. These people are from the computer. I wouldnt let someone piss on edesigns if they were on fire. You say that they have all been fixed .well good. I dont believe that in the slightest.

i know all subs are gonna have problems. and when the pre orders got pushed back. no one was charged until they where shipped. u needed a credit card to reserve. and as for the A "blowing" it wasnt a problem with voice coils. it was the joint breaking cuase of bad glue that TC sounds used. talking about me neing a fanboy. well i was just trying to help ppl out and get them a good deal. and spread my personal good luck. i dont see ppl trying to dump all over RE becuase they blew a sub. ya know why alot of this bashing between ed and re/adire started. ben was friends with dan and dave. dan owns adire. and dave owns re. well they all used to be friends.that and josh laine. who owns sin. well ben left sin to start up icix and ppl wherent happy. so they intentionall sabatoged his name. like i said. no reason to start a fight. i was just trying to help some ppl out and get a little better price on a product i feel is great for the price. no need to argue anymore.

Just purchased one of these, order went smoothly. Still waiting on my custom enclosure, but he had warned me it would take longer which I had expected anyhow.

Sub looks to be of excellent quality though, it's perfect for what I need, lightweight, small, overall quite practical.

the eu700s are a great little speaker. ive got 2 of them. i plan on using them in a 3 way setup. they sound great, but dont expect chest pounding bass out of a 7 inch speaker. i got to hear the protoype back in april and i was quite impressed. as for taking a while on the box, scott makes them all to order and i know its been picking up a bit. did u go with a ported or sealed enclosure for it? how much power?

I went with sealed, though now people are telling me I should have went vented, but I saw no such option on their site, I most likely overlooked it. Airspace is exactly to spec though. I love it.

I got the dual 2 voicecoil version which states it handles 150w RMS/4OHM which is exactly what my MTX amp puts out. If that's what you were asking!

Hmmm...I wonder how much you're really going to get out of just one of them. Is it going in the trunk?

That was the plan. I made the mistake of seeing their excursion video and relating it to how it actually hits. I've since found out the excursion video was made for just that, excursion. I have a sad feeling the 6x9's will overpower them, in which time I'll give up any chance at audio modding I've ever made.

However I did pick up a nice new Clarion deck I love, always was a Pioneer guy, but this Clarion has really impressed me.

That's because RE and Adire take care of their customers when things like that happen...

ED cant blame TC sounds for their subs falling apart, it was up to ED to make sure the subs were up to par..... funny thing is Ive never seen an eclipse sub fall apart like the ed's

Just hit up the forums to express my thanks...good looking out catching that for me.

Funny I just noticed you're a yooper! My girlfriend met me while she lived in St. Ignace, we live downstate but still go up to visit her old town, very nice place for a getaway!

Oh and I have the Clarion DXZ555MP deck! Funny what looking at a profile does for you.
