uneven levels.

well i have my two mtx 12s with a 350 watt amp running them. it actually sounds really good. except for the fact that i know one speaker is getting just a bit more power than the other. when i look at them at high volume i see the left speaker bouncing just a little bit more than the right speaker. everything is equal on my deck. and all the wiring on the amp is correct. the guy before me said the amp was bridged for his car application but we werent sure if the settings would be the same for mine?. i really dont know much about car audio, can you guys help me out?

So you have the amp bridged now?

if it's a two channel amp...you bridge it by using a positive from one channel..and a negative from the other channel.

look at your amp and tell us how it's wired.

if you're just going by the ammount of bounce, there are a few factors that can affect that other than ammount of power. the breakdown of the cone, variances in mfg., even differences in heat (if one was in the sun for instance)

Like was already said, don't judge the output by the "bounce". Also, if your subs are 4 ohm and you wire them bridged parallel on a 2 channel amp, count on sending the amp into a frenzy. If it sounds good now, don't mess with it. It's possible the sub you're refering to is simply getting worn out. You mentioned the amp is rated at 350 watts, so the subs are probably Thunder 4000 ro 4500 or whatever the entry line is called now. Anything else from MTX needs all the power that amp of yours will make. Either way, MTX didn't put much into developing that line of drivers, they put more effort into their high-end lines. I'm not dogging your gear, I've used them myself and still do in one of my cars, but those subs are pretty much disposable and yours is probaly ready to eat itself.

try switching the power thats from one speacker to the other.. does the other bounce farther now? if so. its your amp.. if not, its more than likely the fact that one sub may have been used longer, or more broke in..
