How to remove headliner & rear panels?
Thursday, November 24, 2005 1:02 PM
I'm in the process of B-Quieting my car, already did the doors and WOW, what a difference!!!!! Really awesome, made soiund quality much better, midbass is tight, and the car is so much quieter now. Plus now my doors weigh a ton

How do I take off the headliner? Also, I'd like not to break anything off when removing the rear side pabels, how do I do so?

Any other critical spots to dynamat on a J to have the quiestest cabin possible?

Cheers!

you have to pull the rear side panels first, kinda easy to do , follow around the edge and pull, they are held in with a metal type snap and should pop right out, headliner is held in with plastic snap type screws, as for deadening your car, your roof is smooth so the hardest part is just workin above your head, behind those rear panels is simple too, you could do the floor but i've noticed more rattles and squeaks from the sides and roof so thats not a big deal i would think

dont forget to slide a screwdriver into the slot on the clothes hanger piece and pry the middle out, then those should pop right out. and then a torx 45 or 50 to remove the seat belt pieces.
