ok i got some visor screens i was just wondering if i can tap my remote wire to my amp for the power on the screens? is it constant 12v when the car is on?
your remote wire will normaly only carry .1 or .2 amps, not enough to power the screens. If you want to use the signal from the remote wire to turn the screens on when your amps come on, you will need to use a relay. I have always tapped into an ACC power wire (radio, or similar) If you want to be able to watch the screens whenever, you can just put a switch in and turn them on whenever. I would use a switch anyway, even if wired into ACC power, you might not always want them on or might have to remove them and don't want a hot wire laying around. Most screens you can leave "on" and turnign the power on and off will work to turn the screen on and off so you don't have to press the button on the screen or remote.

you can see the push button switches I have used before on the right side in the middle of the dash. you can pick them up at autozone.

if i had a switch i could just leave it pretty much always on correct? because it would barely drain the battery?
