I have a Kicker Solobaric 12' L7 and it has DVC 2 Ohm a peice. I was wondering if I ran the coils in parallel and had a 1 Ohm woofer, what would be a good yet cheap amp to push it. Im lookin for good sound with hard-hitting bass. I have a Sony Xplod XM504z(500 watts of crap!

) and it hits hard but when i brigde it and parallel the coils the amp cuts off when i turn up the headunit. I could really use some help!!!!!!!!!Soooooonnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!
Thanks

^ JUNK!!!!
Get a hifonics mono amp if you're looking for something cheap...yet pretty good quality. You can find one on e-bay that will be plenty of power for your sub for under $200.
Back when I was competing (5 years ago) Lanzar used to make some pretty good, high-end stuff. Have they gone to hell in a hand-basket since then?
If you're looking for good, cheap power, Hifonics is pretty good. It's well-known that the lower-end Hifonics amps (Brutus and below) are overrated (they don't put out rated power), but they're still an excellent value. You could also look for deals on Directed/Viper/Orion amps online. Some people in this forum have posted links for dirt-cheap refurbs with factory warrantees that would serve you well (they're essentially new, and one helluva deal compared to other gucci brands). A few of us in the .org have also had excellent luck with Planet Audio gear (cheap, very underrated and really reliable), so that's another option.
Good luck!

Yes...they have gone to hell. I also remember when they were a top of the line company.
The lanzar opti series is pretty damn good. Recently with the release of the opti they've been kicking butt again with the line, and bringing back the name. Do some research before you open your trap and just call it junk.

Yea. I assume so. I've never heard of Lanzar being good. Honestly from what i've heard if someone rolled up with lanzar i would poke and laugh

cavy:bagged easystreet front, bags to be in in back soon, tubd, 18s.
celica gt-s:6speed, AEM Cold air, hi flow cat, muffler deletion, NGK plugs, Carbon fiber headliner, B&M shift kit, sportline 2.2" drop, factory rear disk brakes

1/4: 14.5sec. top speed: 145mph
Thanks guys for all the help! When I get the money ( which will be real soon) I think that the Hifonics will be an awesome buy. I think that is a good plan. I just hate the fact that Sony Xplod amps suck soooo bad.. I really dont like to cross the name brand components but ill do it to get good sound and any SPL higher than 135 would be nice.

Kicker makes some really good amps too, but they're kinda pricy.

Well...Lanzar certainly ain't what it used to be. Especially when they were bought out by
Sound Around who happens to host other companies like Pyle, Legacy, and Pyramid. That should say alot right there.
you do know sony is @!#$ and they don't recomend you running less than 2 Ohms or 1 Ohm to it..... can't remember which one....
JL amps are good.... where your running 10v 11 12 13 14 14.4 volts it's always the amount it says..
exm).
Some amps are 500:1 at 14.4 volts but at 12 volts is like 330:1
but with JL 500:1 is at all voltage from 12-14.4 so you don't loose your rms...
I would say get a JL amp...
