you guys with band pass or ported boxes, how do you build the ports for them. My girlfriend just bought subs, and I want to build a band pass box for them, but the spec sheet says a 4" diameter port, how do I go about building this seeing that is need to be 7 1/8" long

Don't build a bandpass box for the love of God. Unless they are expertly designed, that doesn't include "get loud as possible regardless if it sounds like crap" directions that came with the sub, it will sound atrocious. Follow the ported instructions and build a ported box. 4" PVC or 4" aeroports will do the trick

^ I would have to agree with sandmanx, very few people in NA can build a proper BP box. The math in a 6 chamber alone boggles my mind. Knotch filters = better frequency response, which means lots of math.

well I never really liked the sound from a band pass box, but really just wanted to try one, I think I'm just going to build two sealed enclosure's and leave it at that. The bandpass wouldn't look right either. Thanks for all the help.
