remote start

I was wondering if installing a remote start is hard on cavi's? I had a 92 sable and had to have circuit city do it, they are no longer in business around here and best buy won;t do it, so if anyone has any tips or how-to guides that would be great.
thanks

I'm not sure if your 97 need a bypass kit or not , I don't think it does (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Then your in luck. Just make sure you have a wiring diagram to make the proper connections and you should be good.

Hope this helps.
Peace Out !

You will need a passlock module. $50-100 depending on where you get it.

Yes my friend you need a passlock 1 bypass module for the factory system

you do know that you will need diodes for the door pins right

also i go site is astro-chart if you can get your hands on that program

this site will help you with the proper colours(but don't take it word for word)

i think I am going to let best buy do it. They said they could If I bought the unit from them, i think that would be best. Do performance mods hurt this feature. I do plan on gi\oing turbo in the future.

I have installed a car alarm/remote start in my 2001 cavalier z24. It was my first alarm/remote start installation and I got no problem doing it. If you got little electonic habilety you can do it. The difficult part is to find all the wires for your car. The bypass module is also easy to install if you follow the instructions(3-4 wires). You will surely not save time but you will save a lot of money by doing it yourself. Good luck!
