i've pretty much decided on the Kenwood DDX8017 andi know that with the Ipod adaptor you can play your playlists directly through the radio, but, can the videos be played through the screen? that'd be great to carry a few movies or music videos on hand and just play them without the need for the DVD. if not, can any headunit do it right now? i'm getting the video ipod for x mas..
dude that thing will play anything you throw at it so just burn em to disc
i haven't tried the kenwood one but my friend has a JVC deck and the Ipod adapter and i love it.. much better than using the ipod and having to scroll on that while driving. It sucks.
Right now i have a sony deck and i have a Y cables hooked up to my rca's on my deck and my ipod. better sound the fm modulator but im awaiting for sony to come out with an adapter simular like what you mentioned so i can control my ipod via my deck...
IMO anything righ tnow is better than scrolling on an Ipod while driving. Go for it.

i know it'll play my songs without having to control it. my main concern is playing movies. i want to watch whatever movie i have on my ipod too. i want to be disc free. and since the ipod video just came out, i'm not sure it'll play the movies. i know it'll play my music though.
