AfterMarket CD Player....

OK, read the faq. Didn't answer my question. Anyway, I went to Circuit City and the said the only harness that fits my car is the Digital Interface one which is $105. No thank you. Can somebody give me the Stock number for the regular harness, and maybe where I can find it. Thanx in advance.

I used a 2000+ Tracker harness from Autozone, $10? or so. I lost the chimes and used a mini add-a-circuit for the ign. power, as you must hook this to the deck as the harness doesn't provide it.

i can't remember the number, i'm sure it's posted somewhere around here, but the one i used was for a few different saturns, i'm sure the tracker one works, too. might be the same thing, i dunno

What is a mini add-a-circuit for the ign? And do you have to have it?

hes talking about the 12 volt source you need to power it and to keep the memory, since you can't use the circuit from the stock harness. There is a device that allows you to keep the chimes and use the power from the stock harness that is like $40 on ebay

yeah all you need is a tracker harness and while your doing this disconnect the battery. pick off the ignition wire at the steering column, i believe its either a pink or red one, just going by memory right now so check to make sure obviously, and then your good. by the way make sure you don't put anything on the airbag or have your head around it just in case.

You dont have to disconnect the battery just be careful with your wiring not to ground anything out. The Ign wire is pink, the constant 12V wire is red. you dont need the to run an ignition you can get this from the radio harness but you do need to run a 12V wire, to keep your memory working IE clock, presets, settings.

So I need to cut into the Red wire for the 12v power?

If you want to maintain your chimes and don't want to remote locate your original radio into the trunk, I found a harness at Fryes Electronics online. They have one for if you have OnStar and another one if you do not have OnStar. The links follow.

With ONSTAR

Without ONSTAR

I have ordered from Frye's and have excellent response from them. I usually get my stuff from them within a week. Hope this helps.

or wal-mart now has a scosche adapter for $50 that keeps the chimes, and they still play thru the driver speaker, no added speaker box like above

I did the tracker harness and took the red wire to the fuse box and got power from there. However you will losse your chimes.

I used an add a circuit and plugged it into the aux power fuse (something like that... it's always on so i can listen to the radio without the keys.)
