Would adding an 4 channel amp to aftermarket speakers and head unit make a noticable difference?
All depends on what amp, what speakers you have, etc... You could run a 1000 watt 4 channel pyramid amp to your jensen speakers and it's going to sound like a dead cat in heat. If you have a half decent amp and speakers, of course it'll sound better, and usually louder as well.

Currently, I have 6x9 Kappas in the back, and 5 1/4 References in the front hooked up to a Clarion head unit.
I was thinking about adding an Inifinity REF7541A 520 Watt 4 channel amp. I get a discount on Infinity products which is why I chose that amp. What about a 2 channel amp? What is the difference?
you want a 4 channel amp or you will either lose your balance or your fade.

I wouldn't buy an infinity amp, but that's just me. I would go for something a little higher quailty... like almost everything else.
How about a JBL amp? I get a discount on those too...
Ive got all digital audio equiptment in my cavalier and i ran a 500x2 amp for the rears (250rms for each 6x9) and mounted it with the amp for my three subs, then i just ordered another 400x2 amp for the front speakers as well....i noticed a great difference in clarity of music by putting in an amplifier for the 6x9's alone especially with the removable tweeters mounted in an area farther away from the subs.

good sounds great untill you hear better.... this is definately a good example of that motto. adding an amp to your speakers will make more of a difference than i think you realize. would definately be worth it
On the other hand....you have other fingers.
