I have most of my accessory wiring done in 12 or 14 gauge, can't remember which.
I just bought a molded connector to make things easier when I take my doors apart, but they only came with 16-gauge leads.
Will it hurt anything or cause bad performance to have small gauge followed by 6" of larger gauge, then back to small?
It's just LEDs and simple stuff like that.
Thanks!
should be fine...i had to do that to extend the wires for my power locks...came with 16 or 18 gauge wire, i only had 14 gauge lying around, and i needed to extend the wires, i did with the 14 gauge, soldered it all up and it worked like it should.
OK, figured it was a stupid question, but you never know...
Thanks for the input!
just remember, the effective gauge is the same as the thinnest wire you used. so if you use mostly 14 gauge and a piece of 18 gauge, you should consider the circut as wired with 18 gauge.
