i want to install and aftermarket deck on my 01 z24. now when i bought one and tried to install it i noticed that they had sold me the wrong wiring harness..so i thought.....turns out i need a whole new car harness that runs from the back of the car to the front behind the dash that will adapt to the wiring harness that wires to the deck. has anyone else had this problem or know of a way to bypass that whole new harness thing?

Nope, you don't need a new harness to go to the back. You can either wire it in like normal using a harness adapter (so u don't have to cut the factory wires) and you will lose your door chimes, or you can buy an chime adapter that will work the same as the normal harness adapter but you will still get the chimes for door open, lights on,.... I have a PAC C2R-GM24 adapter in my car and i love it. It keeps my chimes (which i like so i don't leave my lights on) and it retains the retained power so when i turn my car off, it will still play if i want it to until i open my door. The only bad thing being that they cost about 90$. I got mine on ebay for like 40$. Hope this helps.
