Im looking to get a dvd,mp3,cd player with a touch screen and flip out..which ones are good and which ones should i stay away from..i was thinking of going the alpine 310 or a pioneer cause i tstill want to get good sound for music..can anyone help me ina direction of a good one that can last..phil
I'm pretty happy with my Panasonic flip out in my Blazer. Alpine and Pioneer are both also good names. Just don't get something cheap, chances are it won't last. Most flip outs are going to put out less power than a normal headunit, so if you like it loud, you may want to look into an amp as well.

I got a clarion VRX935VD or whatever the number is. Its a touch screen 7 inch motorized screen. It is great, but I got it refurbished and it didnt have a warranty. After about 6 or 7 months it stopped reading discs and started giving me an error message that meant the disc was upside down, although it wasn't. I haven't had a chance to send it in to the dealer yet though. I'm gonna see if they can fix it. Other than that it's working great. I just use the Playststion to play Cds and DVDs now. just takes longer to load than the normal one.
I've had a couple of alpine flip out screens and all i can say is that the quality of them is great, but the idea behind them is stupid.
There are 2 safety devises that you have to bypass to have it on when your driving and i tried everything to bypass them easily but i eventually found the easiest way was to still hold the broke and throw a toggle in which made it seem like the ebrake was being pushed in so i could watch/see what track number and all of that good stuff is on.
I personally like the panasonics or the clarions and i think they are a superior product compared to the alpine.
just my .02 cents,
Dave
