Got my MB Quart Discus DWF254 10"sub in the mail today. Looks absolutely stunning, and is supposed to deliver some quality bass. However, the documentation that comes with it is the worst ever, and I can't seem to find nowhere what box dimensions I should use.
Using the carstereo.com box volume calculator with the QTS, FS, and VAS values given for the sub, a 0.5ft box would give me a perfectly flat frequency response ( QTC of 0.707 ), which seems to be what I'm heading for. However, this seems to be utterly small!! Does anybody have any inputs or experience regarding this woofer?
Here are the TS specs:
QMS: 9.996
QES: 0.454
QTS: 0.434
FS: 37
VAS: 23.9L -- 0.844021 cuft
As I said, I'm heading toward maximum sound quality and fidelity to the original recording ( meaning no artificial boost in frequencies or modification of the sound). I have more than enough power to give it to, so I don't mind a box that is slightly less efficient.
Thanks!!
I checked out MB QUart's website, and there's absolutely nothing at all, even their support email info@mbquart.com doesn't work!!
While you're implicated in this post, what box QTC (damping factor) would you recommend for ideal sound quality? I know .707 is the flatest response curve possible, but is that ideal or should I go for a smaller box and higher QTC?
Thanks!

rewvin87: I can hask him a question about MB Quart speakers?
Thanks!
Alright, I built a 0.65ft3 box including speaker displacement ( which gives me roughly 0.5cuft without it), and the sound quality is incredible. Absolutely smooth frequency response, extremely tight & clean, and it gives me exactly the output I was looking for. I would've expected it slightly louder, but it's perfect the way it is
WIll post pics soon!
