I need help! I have an 05 sunfire and I live in an area with now streetlights(read rural) and I want the lowbeams to stay on when I turn on my highbeams. Does anybody know how to do this?

Dont it will overheat and melt your headlight housing.
There IS a way though, but I dont know it.

would he be able to do something like the 96 - 97 Z24 High beam / Fog light mod?

Basically the fog's stay on when you put your highs on...

its similar to that

i know in the earlier cavs it had to be done near the switch to make it work right

I like this Idea... highs+low+fogs, it would make up for the fact that they don't make silverstars for our cars. But I wonder if this would cause to much stress on the electrical system... Hmmm...

Upgrade your wiring first. You'll roast that stock wiring. Or get HID's.

thats actually why I want to do it, I want HID, bad, but can't afford it right now. but my original question still has not been aswered, how do I do keep my lowbeams on when I turn my highbeams on?

My guess would be to get a couple of relays and take a more potent power source. In wiring the relays, you could hook them up so the low beam still gets a power signal when the highs are on. If you don't know much about wiring, DON'T do it yourself, it would be so easy to fry your wiring... But I know I've seen a "Highs + Fogs" how to somewhere..

HIDs for my lows, and silverstar halogens for my high beams on at the same time is like having a big chunk of day light in front of me. Too bad my high beams were that good just by themselves.

i appologize for using a psot to say this but im at work and outside e mail is strictly forbidden....5secondrule: where in the christ is Alna, Maine? i noticed the Maine plate so i checked ur registry, E-Mail me at JLAudioCavalier@AOL.com if u see this, and as for the high beam+low beam question...if its SAFELY possible with dual bulb systems, thats cool, and wouldnt be a bad mod, if someone could make it work 100% safe and reliable!

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

i had lots of toys when i was young.slinky,etc.but once i found my penis, that was all she wrote

I'm assuming you could hook it up so that you had a relay, with the high beam power wire being the trigger.....on the end of that trigger is a wire that taps into the low beam power wire. Then ground out as neccessary. If relay's need grounding.

Knowing that relays are basically electronic switches, I think that might work. I have been thinking about it for sometime, and there have been many posts made on this topic. It is just a matter of time before I go out to my car and do it. But please feel free to correct my theory if I am wrong.
