Question about the wiring in the sub box.
Monday, October 17, 2005 3:38 PM
I just got my box in and the terminals on the side of the box have 2 wires to connect to the terminal, but the wire is like 18-20 gauge wire. Will those wires have to go and get replaced by the 4 gauge wire I have coming to run the rest of the system?? Thx a bunch.

your not running 4 gauge speaker wire are you??????

depending on how big an amp you have pushing the subs will really determine the size of the speaker wire, but im guessing you bought the subs in the box allready hooked up. so you should be fine with whats there. it a thin wire, but its a very short run.

8awg or 10 awg will be good. they look sweet. they wont give you any performance difference. if you can afford them, get them....my best advise, get the largest speaker wires your amp can connect with, it will make the install look best.

My bird has new paint, the body looks good and now under the hood i go. Did i hear someone say bore to a 3.4?

Cool, my dad has some spolls of wire from 12 gauge up to 20 gauge, I'll take the 12 gauge wire and make my own connections that way.
