This is my project car a 98 Sunfire SE.
I have done many performance mods and currently working on my exterior / interior and the car audio system. This audio system will of course be controlled by a carputer. Here is my component list.

Main System:
Via MII 10000
1GB PC 2100 DDR 266 Mhz 184PIN RAM
3.5" Seagate 160 GB HDD
Slimline 8X DVD-ROM 24X CD-ROM

USB:
BU303 USB GPS SiRFII
ODB II
Presentation Trackball Remote

OS:
Win XP
Frodoplayer

Monitor:
Avatar In-dash Motorized 7" Screen

Power:
M1-ATX 90 Watt PSU
Stinger Power Distribution Block x2
Stinger 4 gauge Power Wire
Stinger 10 gauge Power Wire
Stinger Fuse Holders
1 10A Fuse
1 30A Fuse

I want to be able to play music, movies, use navigation, and monitor my cars statistics.

I have this diagram here to show how i want to lay things out. Im still working on it so any input is welcomed. I will post pictures as things come together.

get a bigger screen, unless you plan on only playing MP3's you will hate the tiny screen

Yeah, wish i could get something nicer but thats all i have to work with. It will be mostly for music and nvigation, the ODB and movies wont be used as much only for special occasions. But your right, there is a killer setup on mp3car.com where someone basically made from the headunit to the shifter a screen. Its huge and hes working on complete integration of car controls. Air, heat, all that stuff too. Its cool check it out.

What case did you decide on, or were you just going to lay the motherboard and other components on the carpet?

I will build a custom case to mount in the glove box. I figured with the compact components i should be able to fit all that and of course the car manual.
