Coming tomorrow morning ( in about 10 hours )

!
Finished carpeting the amp rack today and just finished bolting the amps and distro block in it. Holes are drilled for the wiring that will be ran under the rack so no visible wires. I'll post pics AS SOON as I'm finished. I also plan on doing the big 3 this weekend as I got the dreaded light dimming even though the sub amp is wired only in 8ohms, so I guess it'll be terrible when wired in 4ohm like it should be.
I'm still wondering if I will install the false-wall at the back of the trunk ( with the sub showing in the middle of it ), as I just realized -yikes- that I'm a skier and that it'd be pretty much impossible to fit skis in there with it. I'm still thinking about a hinge mecanism or something like that, so that I can run my pair of skis through the side of the sub through the rear seats when I need to.

uh... dont advertise your gear unless u feel like getting jacked
Tredici: Yeah I know, but hell, I'm insured, and the car's always inside at home or at work - a Chrysler dealer

. There's always when we're going out for drinks though... I might remove the Pioneer and only leave th JL as I think it looks pretty good.
looks pretty good. u have neon's in your trunk? i bet it would look pretty cool with that plexiglass (is that what is?)
I like it, but why did you take up the whole trunk when you could have just taken up a corner? Looks good though! I like how the wires are setup!
I wish that you got another fuse other than in your trunk
like around your battery

but setup look good

Thanks all
The box I'm gonna build this weekend for the MB Quart sub won't have the huge and useless wall in front of it so I'll gain some cargo space usability.
Taka: it's not a fuse, it's a distribution block. There is a fuse close to the battery under the hood
Thanks again for the comments! This is my very first customized install, it's no where near what some guys did with fiberglass and all, but I'm quite happy with the results

Can't wait to get the MB Quart Discus sub!11 It's the Discus top of the line model that looks exactly like the Premium and Reference Series subs, with parabolic cone and inverted surround.
does the plexiglass go above or below the amps. i cant tell
Kurt: Above. In the second picture I lifted it to take a better picture of the wiring. I still need to so some minor work so that it will fit flush.
Cheers,
G
I say yank both of them stickers off before some one yanks your system out. Thats what happened to my friend who put an MTX sticker in his back window. if you insist on keeping the stickers in the window, get a steal me sticker too cause when they see ur stickers they are going to want it. Not meanin to be rude and all, just dont want to read any posts that say "stereo system stolen" or something.
Alright alright, I'll take 'em off
How 'bout the system now?
Thanks!
By the way, I just received my MB Quart woofer ( it's the DWF254 which looks exactly like their premium woofer, with inverted surround, can't wait to build a box for it! Looks really sharp too )
Yeah, u got a good setup (aside from the sticker thing). can you still get to your spare tire? i am lookin to redo my trunk set up. all i got is just a regular box ported.. its actually too big.. barely fits in trunk. i wanna tone the cubic feet down a little so i can fit other crap in the trunk. i want to get to my spare too if need be. so thats why im askin about ur setup as for the spare tire? But your system is cool. What speakers u got in the door?
Thanks!
Yep, I can still get to my spare tire, although I hope I won't NEED to really soon, as 1) the rack is somewhat heavy, and 2) there's a lot of wiring under!
The speakers are JL Audio VR600CS, really likin' em.
nice setup, very simple, yet stylish. I always liked the "window" thing. That sub looks like my brothers CV subs in his explorer, except my bros subs got some black on the cone or dust cap, cant quite remember.
That is nice. I tried making a wooden frame on the bottom of the spare tire well cover and mount an amp to that. Key word= tried. The main purpose of this was to hold the sub box back and keep it from sliding all around. It lasted maybe a month. Agh, who cares about my sob story. You setup is very nice. I may try something like that.
Thanks

if anybody needs the dimensions for the box, let me know. I still have' em somewhere or I can go measure.
I was thinkin on doing something like that but for 2 12's. if u can get me the dimensions as soon as possible that would be cool, i am in the navy in japan stationed on an aircraft carrier that hits the seas on the average of 8 months a year.. sux but im goin home in december and i plan on building a box while im home. I appreciate.
Alright 01cavz24

I'll measure them tonight and post it here asap.
Alright, sorry if it's taken so long.
Amp rack: 40" X 20 " X 3.5", you might have to make it higher if your amps are bigger.
False wall ( which I took out of my car to retain some trunk usability and to be able to get skis through the rear seats): 40" by 19.5" high, I used MDF 1/4", and you'll have to shop some on the side to allow the trunk arms to go through.
Hope this helps!
