I have a 2004 Sunfire. The drivers side rear 6x9 blew again, trust me when i say its not up loud. But my brother has the same car except he doesn't have xm. and his passenger side works sometimes and sometimes doesn't
My questions:
1. Is this a noted problem with these cars?
2. Cause of wiring, speaker, or headunit?
3. If I get a XM ready headunit will it work with my stock antenna?
4. The alternator can handle 400 watts ok, right?
i dont know if it is a common prob but i can tell you that the wiring may be reversed. and if you get xm it will work with you stock ant because it has its own ant even weather you go with a direct unit or a fm transmitted unit it has nothing to do with your stock ant. and as for the alt it should have no problem handling 400 watts.
keep beepin azzhole im reloading!!!
your car can probalby handle a little over 1000 watts without any issue, wiring one of the speakers backwords would in no way cause it to blow may have a little less bass output but thats about it. stock speakers arnt the best out there. but i find the same people that blow stock speakers left and right are the same that blow aftermarket left and right. if the signal is being distorted and clipped badly it won't need a ton of power to blow it.
